Canadian Poultry Research Council Website

Canadian Poultry Research Council (CPRC) is a dynamic leader of poultry research funding in Canada. CPRC coordinates funding from stakeholders to support research, education and technology transfer for a vibrant and healthy Canadian poultry sector. Since 2001, the Canadian Poultry Research Council (CPRC) has been creating research partnerships to ensure Canada’s poultry industry is supported with timely and relevant research.

The Challenge

The CPRC wanted to merge its website together with its Poultry Science Cluster (PSC) to combine all content into one, more engaging website. The main CPRC site had more research on the site, while the PSC website provided more engaging content. CPRC wanted to have all its research on one site where the Stories and News about the research are in an accessible format so visitors can learn more about research results and opportunities that stem from made-in-Canada poultry research.

It was important to ensure that the more than 210 research projects were not duplicated, and that it was presented in both French and English.

The Solution

Northern Village worked with Jane Robinson of Write for Work to merge the CPRC and PSC websites together to provide a richer, complete research website. We used Niiwin's data capabilities to create custom fields for each piece of research allowing the ability to present the Research in a structured way. Further, the Stories geared to a non-research audience are linked back to the Research that it was based on. Fact Sheet and News are provided on the research as well.

The site also provides the ability to link to corresponding French / English pages and to have a full text search specific to each language.
