Interhall Council at University of Guelph

Interhall Council (IHC) is the Residence Hall Association for the University of Guelph, founded in 1969. It has 53 members representing approximately 4,800 residence students, and is the largest residence student government organization in Ontario. The IHC helps to orient and welcome new students with activities and events that help them transition to campus life, working with other groups on campus, such as Residence Life Staff and the Central Student Association. IHC members are able to make residence students' voices heard.

The challenge

The Interhall Council wanted an easily updated website that would show their events, facilitilate communications between the different residence halls and between students, and promote the work they do on behalf of students.

The solution

Northern Village moved over the existing website into a format that was developed by IHC. Each residence hall has its own information page, listing the executive of the hall and links to its social media. Several forms are used to collect data, such as requests to advertise on campus and nominate people for recogition.
