Lowlands music
Client
The Guelph-based band Lowlands started out as a house band entertaining people lining up to get into the Great Hall in Toronto. Lowlands eventually brought its great combination of instrumentation and songwriting, and a country/delta blues/bluegrass sound, into various venues, art openings and coffee houses across the city. The band has garnered attention from those who have become fans, as well as festivals, promoters, and industry professionals. Lowlands will release its self-titled debut album in spring 2011.
Client goals
The band needed a simple website to promote, as well as sell, its newly released self-titled debut album. The members wanted to easily post videos and MP3s of songs, as well as connect with their fans on Facebook.
Implementation
One of the band members, Gordon Auld, also happens to be one of Northern Village's partners. It made perfect sense that he would choose to use Northern Village to build the band's website, complete with videos, song samples, Facebook plug-in, and PayPal account. This is a perfect example of a case where the client does most of the work to develop the website with just a little help from NV. We'll meet you where you're at--regardless of your level of technical skill or budget.
